finished some pages on maths problems related to money today
-- wasnt a very difficult topic, more of easy rather, thus Ron was able to finish most of it all by himself without assistance
sadly though, Ron still needs some prompting to focus on his work as he, like the previous few visits, get distarcted very easily, especially when being around friends
realised Ron actually very Man, cause he refused to sit where i told him to sit at, where the whole row is being occupied by girls
must really thank Ron for being such a nice tutee to teach -- very cute, willing to learn and listen, interactive, and smart as well! Ron's handwriting had improved tremendously from the first day i saw him and I finally also came to knowledge that Ron is very good at reading
my encounters with other tutees had shown that most were unable to recognise the words used in the problem sums, had difficulty pronouncing the words, unable to understand the question, or simply cant read or dun wan to read at all.
however, Ron always read loud and clear without any problem whenever i tell him to read the question, and was able to comprehend and remember what the question is trying to say and what the question wants you to do perfectly.
he's also especially good at writing statements, remembering the past/ present tense, sentence structure and plural/singular
-- must be very gd at english!
sadly though, despite of all the schoolwork and assessement books given to him by the centre,
Ron told me he had tuition for all his 4 subjects -- Eng, Math, Chi and Sci
what a busy boy! ;(
Also taught XY maths today .. the normal addition and subtraction of litres and mililitres
i guess i underestimated XY, he's really very good at chinese!
for maths, just some careless mistakes made when doing subtractions problems,
and he had difficulty pronoucing words like 'volume'and 'capacity'
moreover, he repeatedly mistook 'contains' for 'container' and 'bottle' for 'water bottle' and frequently miss out words when writing statements
nevertheless, quite a nice guy to teach, cute and engaging
